This is a great spot to stay in Akureyri - easy to walk to most places and located right across from the water. The hotel is basic but has very comfortable, clean beds. The hotel has a beautiful location in Akureyri, with a breathtaking view of the mountains and sea. Also its on one of the main streets. They offered to me free breakfast as I arrived early. This hotel is very easy to find (visible from Route 1). Easy parking. Small rooms but very clean and comfortable. We might be the only guests here tonight but the staff has been very friendly and accommodating o our last minute booking. Great location within easy walking distance of the main shops/restaurants area.

We stayed previously at the Kea but liked the Hotel Akureyri much more. It is smaller, less expensive, in a good location, more personal and beautiful rooms facing the harbor.
