This is a converted school building (before you think nostalgically of redbrick Victorian Gothic revival grammar/public schools, forget it. We're talking high school a la 1970s here - think more High School Musical than Brideshead Revisited). The rooms are reasonably spacious and share bathrooms - we had a washbasin in our room, which was useful. Showers and loos were clean enough - remember to bring your own soap and shampoo. The hotel is 8km out of Hofn and taxis are not particularly cheap - we paid ISK 2500 for our little ride back from town. We didn't take breakfast or dinner which were very expensive buffets - pack cereal bars and such. This wasn't a massive bargain, but accommodation in Hofn isn't that cheap anyway. And the manageress did organise for one of the staff to give us a lift into town on the last day, which was really helpful - the taxi service (1 for the entirety of Hofn!) wasn't anwering the phone.
