We had really mixed feelings about the property, as outlined below: Location: Amazing. Really, truly, one of the top places we’ve stayed in terms of location, ranking right up there with Hapuku Lodge in New Zealand. It overlooks an estuary, the bay, part of the ocean, and then (at least when we were there) the snowy mountains/fjord. Amazing sunsets and... more

We are sorry and sincerely apologize for having overlooked the glasses at your arrival here. When we built our cottages our aim was to provide healthy living environments, free of chemicals from building materials, indoor air pollutants, biotoxins and mould. When we clean the houses and wash the bed linen etc we use only natural fragrance free non toxic products....

We stayed here for one night during our trip around the country. By far, this was our favourite spot. The cabin was outfitted comfortably and accommodated two people quite nicely. The slightly higher price could be offset by cooking your own meal in the kitchen, however we opted for an excellent meal in Husavik. The hot tub was a very... more

This is by far the best time we had in Iceland. The view, the cottages, the service, everything was even better then our friends had told us from their stay here. We had our children with us, and yes maybe the cottages could be bigger but instead they are really cosy, and a great home away from home. I was... more

Cabins were too small for a family of 4. Considering the price we had to pay, I was not happy that we had to then clean the cabin ourselves after use. Compared to other hotels/cabins that we stayed at on our two week trip to Iceland, this was the most expensive, and by no means the best. more

Stayed one night in July 2009. The location is stunning, one of the most beatiful views in Iceland (and Iceland is a country with thousands of breathtaking views). But - The one bedroom cabin is tiny (barely room for a small double bed in the bedroom) as is the bathroom. You get to make your own bed (literally - you... more

We spent three nights at Kaldbaks-Kot Cottages in Husavik this June. From the moment we arrived we where delighted with our choice of accommodation. The first evening (arrived around 7.30 pm) the place was shrouded with a mist, which gave a quiet and peaceful air to the setting. The Cottages themselves were lovely (We had two, one with a double... more

My Husband and I stayed at Kaldbaks-Kot Cottages, outside Husavik , for two nights in mid July, 2008. We loved everything about it. You check in at the main house, then you drive down a road to your cabin in the meadow with the most beautiful views of the bay and mountain. Each new cabin has a deck that faces... more

We stayed here one night during our recent Iceland trip. This place has a very nice selection of cottages and most had a very nice view of the ocean and nearby mountains from the front porch. The staff was very friendly and provided much information prior to our arrival about the surrounding Husavik area. There was no breakfast here, but... more

We stayed only one night in the smallest cottage which had one bedroom and a sleeping loft. Our two sons (7 and 11) stayed in the loft. The view is beautiful, and around the cottages there are some walking paths toward the fjord (we never made it all the way to the ocean). There are only a few restaurants in... more

One of the most incredibly good value and beautiful places I ever stayed. See the photos for the incredible location and views over the Atlantic from the huts perched on the water. Perfect location for whale-watching and getting to the "Diamond Ring" in northern Iceland, which arguable has better attractions than the better known "Golden Ring" in the south of... more
