Alex was out first and last stop when we were in Iceland. It's really close to airport,so accessible on foot but they have also shuttle service. We camped there for 3-4 nights (in total),the ground is a bit hard to put your tent but still ok.For the rest the "lounge" is pretty basic ,with 2 showers and place to dry your clothes... We were overnighting in Iceland so that we could spend the day driving around and seeing whatever we could in a short time span. Alex Guesthouse is very close to the airport but not noisy and there is a rental car place right next door so we didn't have to waste any time in the morning. There are all different... More

As it is fairly close to the KEF airport, (a long way from Reykjavik) we stayed one night in a wood cabin next to the main building. It was cute and comfy, but quite rustic. The staff were pleasant and the main building has w-fi and a breakfast room. Another good thing about the location is that there is a... More

Motel Alex was our last stop before our flight back from Iceland. It is really a fitting end to this picturesque country. It is located approx 1 km from Reykjanesbær, a small township near the airport. However, there is no public transport from this town towards the motel. One has to walk a grueling 2 km from the nearest road... More

We've spent our last night in Iceland at the Alex Guesthouse. We forgot to book in advance, luckily they still had a triple room available when we called. The location makes it an ideal place to spend the first or last night, however, the Keflavik city center is a bit too far if you don't have a car. For the... More

Stayed at Alex over the night between flights from Sweden to the U.S. Simple living but EXTREMELY clean! Breakfast is included as well. Very well worth the price, especially since transfer to/from airport is free.

We stayed in an adorable tiny cabin with private bath for two nights on our way to Europe. The cabin was clean, had a little oven too, it has a heater too. The motel is very reasonable priced as most hotels in Icelandic are hugely overpriced, this was a good find! The motel is really 2 min from the airport... More

We stayed in the cottages which were filthy on arrival. The staff did try to make amends and moved us to another cottage but this was also pretty dirty. I would never stay here again. Far too expensive for the facilities on offer.

We stayed here because we were landing at midnight & all other accommodation was already booked up. We had booked a chalet but were told that they had overbooked and would we mind staying in a bunk room instead. As we were not hanging around the next morning (& as it was almost a third of the cost) we decided... More

We stayed in an aborable tiny cabin with bath for two nights on our way from USA to Europe. The staff was amazingly helpful, to the point of running several hundred yards to get us & asking the bus to wait when we were about to miss our tour bus. In fact, we found EVERYONE in Iceland friendly and helpful... More
