The lobby was very nice and cozy. The location is great. The staff was nice and helpful. But the rest made me feel like I’m staying at (modern) hospital.
I had a very strange feeling about the room. The walls and floor were white. There was almost no furniture except a king-size bed and a huge TV. There was even...

The owners of this family run establishment are what makes this hotel such a gem! We were personally escorted to our room, meals were specifically prepared with us in mind, our airline was repeatedly contacted on our behalf, and we were driven by the owners to the airport; when nobody else would get up that early! Although it was cold...

The owner of this hotel (I think her name is Ana) could not have been more helpful. We arrived after midnight to be greeted with a smile. Though we took her last room, we were treated as though we were her first and most important guests. Flight schedules had separated us from our traveling companions (sons) and she allowed us...

Room was small (by U.S. standards), and definitely no-frills. Be, desk and small refrigerator only with a liquid soap dispenser in the bath (no bar soap, toiletries, hair dryer, etc.). Also absent was carpeting, a shelf or stand to set your luggage, clock, tissues, coffee maker, iron and decent lighting for reading. On the plus side, the room was spotlessly...

We had the misfortune to arrive at this hotel at the same time as a busload of passengers whose flight had been delayed for a whole day. The reception was obviously stressed and was irritably shouting out orders to lots of very tired people all queued up who were all demanding ground floor rooms so they didn't have to carry...

Because of the hurricane on the East Coast of the U.S., we had to extend our stay in Iceland and, luckily, Hotel Keilir had space. The owner knew travelers were scrambling and went the extra mile to help out, including finding...

We arrived middle of the night and left for the north of Iceland the next day. So we needed a descent place to stay with private bathroom and that is not too noisy as to get a maximum of sleep after a tiring flight and before a long journey.
For us on this occasion it was a perfect fit. Found...

We stayed here the night before our morning flight back to the States. The lobby is bright and inviting but our room was at the end of a very long hallway - to their credit, they have installed motion-detection lighting but for a bit we were in the dark and nervous. Now the room: clean certainly, and quiet (on the...
