My husband and I booked sleeping bag accomodation for one night toward the end of November. We were shown down the road to the special "backpacker" facility and were given a room with a double bed. We had the entire five bedroom house to ourselves and were very at home. Isafjordur is a beautiful (and remote) town and Gamla was a wonderful, warm palce to come home to. In addition, the folks at the tourist office were very helpful and found somebody to open up the Harbor museum especially for us. If in Iceland I highly recommend taking the extra time to visit the West Fjords. more
