We stayed for only one night at Hotel Keflavík before travelling abroad as this hotel is very close to our international airport. It is a 4 star hotel and we got a double deluxe room. This was supposed to be a romantic getaway before our trip but oh, dear, we were so disappointed with our first room. It was very small and had a very strong smell (which I have noticed in other Icelandic hotels). The view was bad and the TV was beside the bed (see my first photos) so there was no way one could watch it comfortably. The safe didn´t work so they gave us another room across the hall. What a difference, it was bigger, with a nice view and everything was up to par. So if you reserve a deluxe room and are not satisfied with what you get please ask them to move you to another room. You can see the difference from the photos I added.

So we had a lovely stay there and loved our room. The staff was excellent and very helpful and efficient.

I was set up here through a travel agency and was only staying in Iceland for 2 nights. The hotel is old-fashioned and has a traditional feel of a rustic hunting lodge in some aspects. It was comfortable and the room was smaller than what I'm use to, American style.

The morning brunch was fantastic. So much to choose from, any breakfast food you could think of. Wow, that breakfast buffet really held me over for a good part of the day.

I did some exploring of local Keflavik and walked along the water and saw the troll in his cave. It was peaceful, quiet and locals were very friendly and I had coffee with a few.
The only negative is that it is faaarrrr from Reykavik. Like couple hours far. It sucked at night not to have any options of things to do but oh well.
Good times.
