We arrived at the Hotel Reykjavik around 10 AM. We had taken a cab from the bus station (about a $10 ride, well worth it for the time we saved). We walked into the clean, modern lobby fully prepared to hear that it was far too early to check in, so we were nothing short of stunned when a pleasant... more

A party of 9 lads booked 3 triple rooms at this hotel and we all enjoyed it very much. The front desk are very helpful and the rooms were cleaned spotless every day. The breakfast got a bit repetative but it does open as early as 4.30am so long as you request it. It's a good 10 minute walk up... more

The hotel was in a quiet area and well located for walking into the city. It was a reasonable walk of about 20mins to the centre but the route was along the main shopping street so didn’t feel as far. The room was a reasonable size with a good shower, drinks making facilities and a mini-fridge. Breakfast was a continental... more

This hotels is well located for the centre of Reykjavik. It is situated near the bottom end of Laugevegar, which is the main shopping drag of the city. The hotel is a standard 3* hotel: rooms are comfortable if a bit worn. Our room had minibar, press, bath (some rooms shower only) TV (in room movies pretty cheap at 2.500K),... more

Plus points of this hotel are a good breakfast with excellent service, kettle in the room (so bring your flask for the next day!) and very clean. On the downside it is close to the shopping street but the main restaurants, central square etc are right at the other end. We are fast walkers and the return walk after supper... more

Really nice medium budget hotel near the centre of Reykjavik. Don't let the dodgy looking area surrounding it put you off. Within 15 mins walking you are on the main shopping street in the town, and close to restaurants, shops and bars. The room was large and clean. The bathroom very spacious with lovely power shower. Breakfast within the hotel... more

HR is an upper-end economy-class hotel on the outskirts of downtown Reykjavik. We generally had a good experience there, pros and cons are below. There is some debate on this website as to whether Hotel Reykjavik is truly a 15 minute walk to downtown. And the answer, as in many situations, is “it depends.” In this case, it depends on... more

We have just returned from 3 nights at Hotel Reykjavik. Location is ideal if you don't want noise from the streets but do want easy access to the main shopping street and night life area, which is five minutes walk away. The hotel is nice and clean, rooms are fine, breakfast is buffet and you can have as much or... more

Was an excellent choice of hotel - excellent price, clean rooms, friendly staff. Right in the centre of Reykjavik it's only a few minutes walk from the shopping street and the sea front. Parking is free and inside a locked underground car park, which is great if you're hiring a car. The rooms were big, with a kettle and TV... more
