What people on here are moaning about is beyond me. The building does look like something from Thunderbirds, but inside its pleasent, warm and comfortable. The hotel features a bar with views over looking the Domestic Airport which has about 10 flights all day it would seem so don't let that put you off, the last flight is around dinner... more

I stayed on a short break which was a package from Icelandair. It was very good value considering how expensive Iceland has been in the past. This hotel is located just outside the city centre and to walk into the centre you have to walk alongside a dual carriageway so not particularly pleasant. However the hotel runs a shuttle bus... more

The hotel neighbors a small airport which is very noisy during the day. No problems at night. It is also a bit removed from downtown. They do offer a free shuttle but the schedule has some big gaps, at least during the winter. The do have a Thursday night bedtime stories which was very quaint. They give you blankets, pillows... more

I really don't get all the negative comments from some of the grumps here! I stayed here for five nights during half-term and I loved it! The rooms were clean and immaculately kept. The breakfast is good and varied. We ate a hearty breakfast every morning and that kept us going until the evening meal at night up town. Doing... more

I don't quite understand the criticism the Icelandair Loftleidir Hotel gets on this site. It was very clean, the staff was quick to respond and responsive and its only about one mile from the heart of Reykjavik (not a bad comparison to hotels in Manhattan, Chicago, etc.). If you are in sem-decent physical shape (or are trying to get into... more

I stayed at the hotel during a conference. The rooms at the hotel are very nice and the food is ok. Unfortunately the service at the reception is not up to standards. The people at the reception don't seem to know how to smile, they are very slow and seem to make a lot of mistakes. An other negative is... more

Unexciting for a city break, but spotlessly clean. A good half hour stroll, which would be fine save for Icelandic weather, but with courtesy buses 4 times each day. Breakfast at 1600 ISK and an unchanging dinner menu; neither tried. more
