My husband and I stayed here for three nights total -- once at the beginning of our tour and once at the end. The hotel is not close to downtown Reykjavik, but it a pretty easy bus or taxi ride away. The Pearl is a 10-15 minute hike up a hill, but the open space and view of the city... more

A good hotel with a somewhat reserved staff. Good value for money, rooms clean and good, breakfast excellent. One day the staff forgot to clean our room and make the bed but that's not so tragic. The staff at the reception desk could be friendlier though but this seems to be an Icelandic thing. All in all a great hotel... more

If you're going for the nightlife, do not select this hotel. If you're going for the excursions, why not? The hotel is quite the trek from the edge of downtown (see the scaffolded cathedral in the photo) and the free shuttle has a sparse schedule, but all the major tours offer hotel pick-up. For the price difference, you can pay... more

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, and enjoyed the hotel. Our rooms were fine for a city break, where you don't stay around the hotel too much. The rooms are not very big, but clean and with good heating (sounds irrelevant, but this is Iceland!). The rest of the hotel was actually more up to 4 star standard,... more

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel from 12th-15th September 08. We could not fault it one bit! It was a smooth transfer from the airport as if you catch the airbus it will take you outside the hotel doors and a return ticket is only about £15 well cheaper than a taxi :) When we got to hotel... more

The hotel is clean, has nice rooms, friendly staff and very good food. We loved the buffet dinner at the restaurant (great fish and desserts!), although it is a bit more expensive than elsewhere in town (we spent about 9000 ISK for two people - 55 Euro at the March 2009 rate). The hotel is more on the outside of... more

Yes the location is not great, is an extra mile at least from downtown. As it was a wintry April with freezing cold breeze, I didn't brace myself to walk. There is shuttle but schedule wasn't great. Nevertheless a taxi ride is around ISK15000, which wasn't too bad. On another hand, one of the attraction - Perlan, is only some... more

The hotel is pretty nice (nicer on inside than outside). The rooms are pretty small and had two twin beds next to each other instead of a larger bed, but they were extremely comfortable. You can't really walk anywhere and cabs are pretty expensive. The hotel has some tour packages which are also expensive, but really your only option. A... more

Stopped here for 4 nights. Good value for money and on the whole friendly staff. Yes it is out of town and its not a good position to walk into the centre. However I would not let this put you off. The buses run every day frequently from near the hotel. All tours will pick you up from here too.... more

The hotel was really bad, a rip off. If you get chances to get Hilton Nordica, get it. This hotel is 40 Min walking from town (no 20 min), and you must walk through motorway, you also could paid 1200-1500 Krone to get town by taxi each way. For meal you do not have nothing withing walking distance so paid... more
