Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We spent 5 nights here, our room was lovely, we were in an end room with 3 floor to ceiling windows curved round the room. Room had everything we needed - comfy bed, coffee station, good shower, safe. We found the room to be too warm in March and slept with the windows open. Not too noisy from outside. No noise from bar below in the room we were in. Bathroom could do with an extractor and main light needed bulbs replaced. Would stay here again as nice space and right in the centre with lots of great bars and restaurants around.

Great hotel to stay in Reykjavik! The best location in the center. They also provide the place to store the suitcases which was very helpful. The room itself is nice and clean, even though it was a little bit small. It has a huge TV inside and all the bathroom amenities. The view is amazing indeed and overall we enjoyed our stay.

Me and my wife came here for our anniversary. Location is amazing, everything minutes away. Everything was nice and clean. Loved the island it was like landing on another planet. On return I would definitely book here again. People have moaned about the noise but we didn’t hear anything. Bit to be fair the band underneath was amazing also 😏

This hotel was in the perfect location for everything we could have needed. Close to attractions, shops and bars/restaurants. Also close to bus stops (closest is bus stop 6- which is a 4 min walk). Although it is strange that there’s no one on reception, check in and check out is easy. They send you your room codes beforehand. I was a bit wary about this initially but it was all fine in the end. Lovely comfy beds. Not much of a view from our room, but due to time of year we only had 5 hours of daylight per day and we were out and about at these times anyway. Also really nice showers. Would highly recommend.

We stayed in the "King Suite with Balcony & Mountain View" room from December 29th-January 1st and it was absolutely perfect! We stayed in 4 different hotels in Iceland and this was by far the best at communication even in spite of not having reception on site. Emails were informative and answered quickly. The luggage storage and shower they offered for early arrival were very helpful, but I will caution that it places a great deal of faith in the other guests because everyone has access to the same luggage storage. We didn't have any problems, but it was the only part of our stay that gave me pause. Our room was spacious, comfortable, had a private jacuzzi and unbelievable views - especially for the epic NYE fireworks across Reykjavik. That particular room does not face Hallgrímskirkja church, but we were able to also enjoy that view from the building's 4th floor terrace. The only reason I hate writing this review is because I may be giving away Reykjavik's best kept secret of THE place to spend NYE!

Inexpensive by Iceland standards but you definitely "pay" for it. Our apartment was clean and things more or less worked. The windows are really, really old and the draft was crazy cold. The pillows were horrible. No sofa and instead two twin beds. The queen bed in the bedroom was two twins pushed together. Okay, so I can live with that but the bedding was for twin beds so two twin size comforters. No extra blankets. The bathroom was off the bedroom so people had to go through the bedroom to use it in the middle of the night. The hair dryer was broken but they were very responsive and replaced it quickly. And finally, there is a bar on ground level that plays REALLY REALLY LOUD music until 3am on the weekend and midnight during the week. Bring earplugs if you decide to stay here.

The location and facilities were great but I need to raise a note of caution as raised by others too. The front door of the property is open to anyone until 10pm at night and the same door codes are used and there's no way to secure the door on the inside. I'd read about this so I left my suitcase blocking the door each night and was glad of that on the last morning! Check out is at 11am but at 8.30am the housekeeping staff just let themselves into my room without knocking using the code! When I asked what they were doing they just said "checkout 10am" no apology for entering the room without knocking hours before checkout. I contacted management and they've apologised but as a solo female traveller I'd never risk staying there again, a shame as the location and facilities are great. There are other options close by for similar budget with better security.

We must have had a renovated room because my goodness, this is not a 3* hotel. This was a 5 for us. The decor was top notch, and the room was stunning. The shower was absolutely amazing, and the wall of windows was fabulous. We did not have a view as such, but the room was so light and it was so lovely it made up for it. Would stay here again in heartbeat
