It may seem a bit strange that I am writing this review of Guesthouse Anna more than three years after staying there, but I have only recently begun to contribute to TripAdvisor and would like to give credit (however belated) where credit is due. My wife and I flew to Reykjavik via Icelandair's redeye flight out of BWI Airport as... more

A very nice place to stay. It's in a good location about 20 mins leisurely walk from the main shopping street and in a lovely neighbourhood. It's homely and welcoming, but not overpowering. Anna stayed up unitil 2am to let us in when we arrived The breakfasts were OK, if not great and the shower was great! more

We stayed at Anna's for 5 nights at the beginning of our trip and then 1 night at the end. The location is convenient to the bus station, where you arrive in from the airport--you just walk across the street. It's a pleasant walk into town (10 mins). The rooms are a nice size and well kept. Breakfast is served... more

...since it's literally across the road from the bus station. Very convenient, and since Reykjavik is small, you can still easily walk to all the central attractions. The modern exterior nicely contrasts with the charmingly stylish interior. The breakfast room is something you'd expect in a much more expensive hotel. The single room was a bit dark, but since I... more

The place was not what we had hoped for. It was near a bus station and main road was our room was noisy. The room itself was not as clean as we expect. The breakfast each morning was very poor with nothing warm. The place was acceptable but we would not return. more

Guesthouse Anna is toward the edge rather than the center of Reykjavik but the city is so small and walkable that it doesn't matter. What does matter is that it sits on a pretty block, is reasonably priced and that Anna is both sweet and a pro. It is a two-minute walk from the BSI bus station, which was good... more

Anna runs an exceptionally homey, friendly, low-key guesthouse with a good location (an ideal location if you're taking any excursions from the bus station across the street). When I first came to Iceland I reflexively shied away from "guesthouses," preferring the anonymity of a hotel. I didn't necessarily want to feel like a guest in someone's house. But I learned... more

...and it certainly won't be the last, in part due to the fantastic Guesthouse Anna. Our room was a cross between a bedroom and a library with a huge window on the ground floor that looked out onto her little garden. Anna herself is brilliant, always got a smile for you, cooks a divine breakfast (ham, eggs, toast, etc...) and... more

My friends and I arrived back in Reykjavik after driving the entire Ring Road around the island and didn't have reservations for our last couple of nights. I think we found Anna's information in one of our guide books and we were not disappointed! The price was reasonable as we paid about $150 for a pretty big room for the... more

Stayed one night at Anna on recent trip. Rooms were spacious and clean. Front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. Excellent breakfast. Good location for bus station, a 20 minute walk from everything else. Not cheap at IKR 13,000 per night, but value for money given the expense of everything else. Recommended. more
