Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The campsite is large, well over 150 guests. The facilities have common showers (4 sh heads) requiring additional payment for 5 minutes of use; the kitchen is spacious but has just a few tables. Electricity is available

Closing showers, laundry and kitchen between 10 pm and 7 am is just not fair when it is daylight all night-it kills flexibility. Expensive and useless-we could not take a shower because if arriving late. Kitchen, restrooms are ok. Big camp but only care paying for electricity could usee gravel area.

Widespread location in walking distance to the famous black beach, a supermarket and other amenities. The place offers space for at least a hundred campers and tents, the facilities are modern and well maintained, but way too limited for the overall capacity (e.g. only 5 toilets and sinks in the men's room). Also, if you need electricity, you better arrive early, because only few places are equipped with outlets. Wifi is free, but works only close to the reception building.

After paying 1750 isk for a low season One person I realize that you need to pay for a shower. Incredible on a freezing country. There was -4 outside.
They could charge you for adicional shower, but now.
Place to avoid. Zero evaluation.

One of the best campsites I have been in. The surroundings are very beautiful and the facilities are very nice. The bathrooms were always clean, there was a place inside with tables where you could eat, charge electronics and do the dishes. It was pretty windy during our stay, but still we really enjoyed it.

I was with my family in Vík in June and I recommend them. Everything was very clean and nice atmosphere. They have also a house that campers could use, make food and sit there inside if the weather is bad. The bathroom building looked new and they were clean and with good design. Really nice place with good facilities. The landscape in Vík is great and Reynisfjara og Reynisfjall is "just around the corner".

My husband and I were in a camper van and we really liked Vik camping. There was wifi, a microwave, an electric kettle, and a place to get out of the rain. It was in a good location with a grocery store right across the street, close to Skogafoss and some black beaches. The indoor area was a lifesaver as it rained all day for one of the days we stayed there. The showers are nice but shared in an open locker room style, so either find a time no one else is showering or get comfy with nudity. Showers were 300ISK per 5 minutes, a little on the pricy side. The campsite manager can make change.

Very busy, crowded and expensive

We arrived at 9pm in desperate need of a shower but unable to use amenities as you need to purchase tokens from reception. Reception was shut and now one around to assist.
The site is also busy, may as well be a car park.
Would not recommend if you want to shower.
Double up on payment with paying for the site and showering/ammenities

We really enjoyed our camping here! Great location, super clean (and warm) bathrooms, and a lovely setting. Facilities do get crowded during peak times. Bonus: Skool Beans cafe is right behind the camp and a great place for morning coffee!

Vik is a lovely place, hands down, and the campsite is lovely too. The bathrooms were clean, and cleaned multiple times throughout the day. Modern, smelt nice, and always tidy. The common area is ample, with free Wifi and plenty of PowerPoints for charging. Laundry available. Hot showers were lovely but 300Kr extra and timed. Very close to walk to the church, the supermarket and to the Vik black sand beach. Nearby coffee bus also came highly rated, though I didn't make it there. Would recommend as a stopover on your van trip around Iceland.

Hello! We were there much later at the end of September and it was still possible to camp. Cold though. :) The showers and the kitchen were open. Have a good time!

Buenas! Una pregunta, ¿hay que reservar previamente en los campings o es simplemente llegar y ya? Gracias!
