Great holiday as usual Melissa and other staff are so frendly and professional, a credit to the hotel The rooms have been refurbished and are serviced daily to a high standard. Over the years the breakfast selection has become more and more varied, catering to everyone. In my opinion the hotel now deserves a much higher rating Many thanks 😊

Couldn’t have asked for better service. All the staff from reception, bar, cleaners, gardners & maintenance were helpful and polite at all times. Room was cleaned daily and beds made. Breakfast was plentiful and even incorporated a few English breakfast items (beans, sausage & fried egg) The couple of small issues we had were resolved quickly and without fuss. Despite our late arrival, 10pm, we were offer food. Although slightly out of town it was easy to get around by Dolmus, taxi or by foot. Sadly, when we were here, the harbour area of Kyrenia was closed for refurbishment. Would highly recommend for the time of year we came, quiet but not dead.

We have recently returned from two weeks staying at Altinkaya. Altinkaya is somewhat of a conundrum as the grounds are beautifully maintained and it has a pleasant swimming pool. We stayed in the hotel on the first floor at the back of the building. The room was quiet and had a view of the mountains , although somewhat obscured by the tall trees that edge along the hotels boundary . The room was basic with a tiny fridge which was barely cold, the air conditioning worked well. There was a kettle and two mugs that had been hidden away in a cupboard , complimentary tea and coffee were not provided nor any drinking glasses, although upon asking the bar man happily gave us two wine glasses . Neither the glasses or mugs were replenished with fresh ones during our stay. The bathroom consisted of a narrow bath with an over the bath shower which was generally cold or luke warm. The cleaning and replacing of towels and bedding was very hit and miss and I had to ask for our bathroom to be cleaned properly after it not having been cleaned for several days. The pool was pleasant but unfortunately the mattresses on the loungers were grubby and some of the parasols filthy and appeared to be smeared with mud. The food in the restaurant was fresh but repetitive and basic. Staffing seemed thin on the ground but they were pleasant and happy to help. Information on trips and activities in the reception area is out of date , we asked about Horse riding and were told this had not resumed following covid , yet the poster remained during the entirety of our stay. The communal areas in the hotel looked very nice and we sat inside the bar ( which I think is used during the cooler months ) whilst there was a heavy storm one evening. The lounge area has a good library of books and there is a large new restaurant. In conclusion Altinkaya has the potential to be a great hotel it just needs some attention to detail.

This is the 6th time we have visited and we have had the same brilliant experience again. As always the staff are superb, especially Melissa in reception, adnan(Eddie) in the bar, bilal in reception, anuca? On general duties and the new staff who slotted in so well. We met up again with Debs and Mike , also with Dave and Shirley, and went out every night to different restaurants. Have already booked our room for next year. Can’t wait.

We have just returned from our 3 rd visit in year to the wonderfull family run hotel. As always the hotel does not disappoint the pool and grounds are impeccable maintained to a very high standard. The rooms /bungalows are comfortable clean and tidy . New rooms have been added thus year which very high spec. This hotel is like no other I have experienced here you are not a number you are treated like an old friend or family member ,this is why regulars return year after year two or three times a year. The staff are fantastic from top to bottom. All very friendly and willing to go out of there way to make sure your stay is memorable. Taking time to chat to you. They always go that extra mile. I have a special diatry need and the hotel went out of there way to ensure I was accommodated. A great hotel for all to enjoy from families couples and single travellers. Thanks Altinkaya see you next year.

Just come back from our umpteenth holiday at this wonderful hotel. If anything things have got better. The upgrade of the rooms is continuing and the finished job is very good. Service is as usual second to non with the lovely Melissa only too happy to help with any problems or queerys, aided by Dennis. It really is like coming home because you find that a lot of the people there have also been coming for many years and you get to know them. How many hotels do you go to when you see the receptionist being taken out for a meal by the residents. It really is a great place to stay. The rest of the staff who look after you on a day to day basis are just as good. Too many to mention by name but all the waiters are so helpful. As you walk in from a night out your drink is up ready for you, fabulous service. Even Tariq the night security is waiting to help out in any way he can. If he's at the front he rushes to open your taxi door when you pull up, or if just arriving he rushes to pick up your luggage which he tucks under each arm like they weighed nothing. Will be back next year at least once, can't wait.

Just returned from our stay at the altinkaya Holiday resort. I don't often write reviews, but I have made an exception for this hotel. We had such a fantastic time at this Lovley family run hotel, I use the word family as buy the time you leave you will feel like part of the family. You are not a number here you are a real person, first name terms with the staff. The staff are fantastic, a small dedicated team who you get know very well. They become friends. Melissa is the team captain! She is very help full if you ever need any thing no matter how small, from asking for more shower gel, to arranging car hire and recommendations for local restaurants. All the team work well together. Bilal, kidir, memhet, tarik, renuka. To name a few who made the stay special for us. The hotel has a great pool which is never busy some days we had to our selves. No need to rush and get your towels down. All very relaxed. The gardens are well kept with some stunning flowers and shrubs. Hotel is ideal situated, 20 to 30 mins walk to kyrenia hourbour. The hotel does offer a shuttle bus every morning if you don't fancy the walk. Close by is a well stocked super Market, a chemist, and a couple of nice coffee shops. We had the most wonderful time. And will be going back in September!. Thanks to every one at the hotel from t op to bottom. See you very soon. Mike and Deb.

Another great holiday here.Brilliant staff, nice breakfast and a peaceful break. The pool is lovely , as is the bar with its great staff. As usual Melissa is so helpful and is an essential part of the hotel. The other staff to mention are Tarik and Mehmet who are so helpful and pleasant. A great 2 weeks and so sad to leave, but will be back next year. Met some of our old friends again which made the holiday even better.A 5 star experience for 3 star prices.

Just come back from our eighth visit to this marvelous hotel. Went there for the first time in 2015 and fell in love with the place. Its such a friendly atmosphere, well looked after, and always neat and tidy. I have never come across such friendly helpful staff. The hotel is undergoing major upgrading and alterations and the rooms when they are finished are superb. We were in one of the new rooms on this visit and it was superb. Everything you could ask for in a comfortable room. I had a problem with something I had bought in Kyrenia and I contacted the lovely Melissa on reception. Her and Denis are on reception are great. Anything you want just ask them and nothing is too much trouble. I asked Melissa if she could possibly get me a phone number or email address of the shop I was having problems with. Couldn't believe it when my phone went a few days later and it was Melissa, who in her own time, had gone into town to the shop and rung me on her phone so I could speak to the owner. Unbelievably helpful. I have never had service like that before. Northern Cyprus is lovely and relaxed without noisy stag and hen do's or drunks falling around. Back again to the Altinkaya in September, our flights from 2020 which were postponed. Go early September every year, then as we leave book for the following year. Then if possible try to fit in a few days in spring/summer. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice friendly place to stay, you will not be disappointed.
