We had evening meal here recently and I must admit to a pleasant suprise I had dined here before when Chef Patrick was in charge and had nor been back since he left. It must be said that the is now a quite decent eaterie, fine dinning but not over fussy, the service was quite attentive without being intrusive. The... More

My wife and I headed to the Horseshoe in Eddleston yesterday. It's a place we had never been before even though we are down Peebles way fairly often. One of those, "We'll need to try that place one of these days." kind of places. At a wedding I attended on Monday, I had heard that a new head chef had... More

I have been recommending the Horseshoe Inn for several months now, having spent a few very pleasant evenings dining there in the past, but we knew there had been a few changes to the menu and the layout so were keen to go back and see what improvements had been made. We chose to visit at lunchtime and I can... More

I spent 1 night in the Horseshoe Inn with my partner and elderly Mum. The rooms are seperate from the Inn, which is a converted old school. It has loads of character and charm. The rooms we had were very luxurious. The beds are super comfy!! Lovely wee extras like fresh milk and homemade cake, radio alarm, robes, free wifi,... More

Had an excellent fish and chips Saturday lunch with friends before popping home in time for the rugby - so impressed we decided to try Sunday lunch the following week. Pre lunch drinks in front of a wood burning stove, all four of us thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the ambience. Roast beef excellent (but not much of it) and... More

My family enjoyed another two great meals here this month, one for Sunday lunch and another on a Saturday. Head Chef , Riad, maintains a tight but amiable ship with his constant passion for food reflected in a brilliantly balanced menu. There is a buzz of excitement as we head towards spring with the promise of a bright new menu... More

Great restaurant, beautiful surroundings, helpful and attentive staff and the food was unforgettable. We were welcomed with pheasant sausage and haggis apptisers. I don't usually have soup but the cream of corn of corn was delicious. For the mains, most of our party had the pork belly which they loved, I had the ox cheek which was a real treat.... More

We were staying at Barony castle up the road and decided to pop in for lunch. From the exterior we were expecting a pub grub type place but on entering realised it was much nicer. So although we only cam in for a light lunch, once we seen the menu we just had to have a full meal. The guinea... More

We stayed at The Horseshoe Inn whilst attending a friend's wedding. The staff were very helpful and let us into our room early so we could change before heading to the wedding ceremony. The bedrooms are newly refurbished and look great. The real surprise was the breakfast in the morning.....it was a gourmet masterpiece and I couldn't believe the superb... More
