We just got back from a trip to Malta and stayed at the Xara Palace. While the hotel is charming and well located, it does certainly not live by its supposed five stars standards. We stayed a couple of nights at the Xara Palace for our freiends wedding which was held at the hotel. the whole time we were there was amazing. This hotel is in a fabulous position overlooking the country, the food was out of this world and the rooms were to match. A definate must in Malta! more

The Xara Palace is a very charming small (17 rooms) hotel set in the walls of Mdina the old medieval capital of Malta. From the greeting to the goodbye the staff could not be faulted. They remained polite and professional throughout and the sommelier was brilliant. The bed was like sleeping on a huge marshmallow and we were kindly given a free upgrade. A night we shall never forget. more

Really exceptional hotel. We had a gorgeous duplex! The room was elegant and we really enjoyed lounging in it. The staff were incredibly helpful. Arranged cars, dinners and things to see. They even gave us a complimentary drink when we registered. The food at the restaurant may be a little overated, but a wonderful hotel. Period. more
