Upon arrival we were very impressed with the front desk area, apart from the rude staff...it all went downhill from there. Led up a dark, smelly corridor to a lift and took our lives in our hands going up a few floors to the room. I completely agree with previous opinions about this hotel. I would want to remark: 1) Inefficient staff when required to fix problems. 2) Unpolite and quite rude staff at the restaurants (both the one at the top of the hotel and "Pomodoro restaurant"). Just returned from a two week stay. While this hotel is in a decent location, I would never recommend it. The room keys are actual keys, on a huge wooden knob. You either have to lug this around with you everywhere or leave it at the front desk and check in and out at the front desk every single time... more

Please don't waste your time and money in this hotel. Twin bed, shape of a body in the matress when not on it. Sheets and Pillows - went to local store and purchased our own. To make the review short: + excellent location (Sliema shopping, buses (almost everywhere), ferry to Valletta and tours around the island and to Gozo and Sicily) + rooms were reasonably clean (beds and towels) + inexpensive +/- breakfast; ok for a continental breakfast (toast, cheese, ham/turkey, eggs, cake, fruit, cereals), but we didn't get yoghurt or fresh juice every morning... more
