Stayed here for a week and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel is well away from the noisy Sliema seafront, but only a ten minute walk to the bus terminus, ferries, shops etc. Generally a very peaceful residential area where your sleep won't be distrurbed by traffic and late night revellers. The grand entrance lobby certainly lived up to expectation, as per photos on the hotel web-site, and the public areas were very spacious and welcoming. The building and grounds are beautiful, very spacious and have a lovely sweeping staircase as you enter. Stayed here as we had old family connections with the place. ( they were generous with family on the island during the lean and hungry times of the war ) It has an air of faded genteelness and if you close your eyes long enough you can almost see the men who left here to fight and never came back.... more
