Echternach is a wonderful and beautiful village and hotel Aigle Noir is in the very heart of that village! Even less than 1 minute walking from the bus station and on the most lively street of Echternach.
This has of course a negative side, because I suppose that if you have a room on the front side of the hotel, you will hear a lot of street noise till late in the evening. Music from cafés, laughter from terraces, because tourists like to stroll till hours after sunset on the Rue de la Gare. But fortunately I had a room on the back side and that was really quiet, with a beautiful view over the Sure (or Sauer) River and even on the tiny but charming Liborius Chapel, high on the mountains on the German side of this boarder river!
The room however was a little small and the bathroom was even very small! How can they put 1 toilet, 1 basin and 1 shower on less than 1 square meter. So the toilet paper was hanging on the door, because was the only place where you could still hang... more
