As some of the other reviews point out, this is an antiquated hotel. There is some charm remaining, but this is probably not the hotel for a romantic getaway. I traveled for business and selected a low-cost room. The window faced an interior wall, which was a bit depressing. However, I assume that the more expensive rooms would have some... More

This family run hotel is a reliable favourite of mine when staying in Luxembourg. Old fashioned charm, in the very centre of the city. Room was very warm, bearable when heating was switched off. Reasonable deal, but can't see the need to charge 30 euros for 24 hours Internet when many hotels are now providing this for free. Breakfast was... More

An very old fashioned hotel in the heart of the city, very conveniently situated but as I said quite old. Breakfast buffet is nice, the rooms are spacious - but you expect all this in a 4 star hotel. The bathroom would deserve an overhaul though. The cracked sink isn't really a good sign for class. The blue colours of... More

Cosy friendly hotel! Very helpful staff. Just see: in spite of being late for the breakfast my husband and I were friendly serviced and one of the staff even went out shopping to provide croissants for us! Amazing! Thank you a lot! In the evening near the fire place we were served with the beautiful tasteful sweeties! The staff is... More

This hotel is very well located and that is the only good thing about it. As to the downsides: service is poor and often rude. We booked a parking space 3 days in advance, only to learn, when we arrived at 9 pm, that they had “forgotten”. It was Saturday night, it was raining heavily and there was nowhere to... More

We pre booked the hotel 1 month in advance. We arrive to be told the room will be smaller than we booked. Well, outside the room was a corridor being redecorated, equipment, furniture, paint, had been left everywhere. We go into the room and walk into a thick smell of smoke and what looks like a £30 b&b. Complaining hasn't... More

My wife and I don't like walking and, like all the hotels we choose, this hotel was slap-bang in the city center. This is a historic hotel and many important people stayed here. Everywhere was easy to get to and the view from the terrace just opposite the hotel was magnificent. During the Second World War, it was the American... More

Yes, as the previous reviewers have mentioned, the hotel is very dated. In some ways, that makes for a quaint stay, but the worn carpet and chipped/peeling paint in some places should be attended. Breakfast was really nice -- fresh fruits and fruit salad, eggs, bacon, meats, cheeses, cereals, yogurt, homemade preserves and breads. The self-serve espresso was also very... More

Stayed one night at Grand Cravat and it was a good stay. Staff were helpful when required. Rooms have been 'done up' and the paintwork brightens up the room - but it isn't a good paintjob (room 329). That didn't detract from the room in any way as I wasn't staying there to pass a critical eye over the paintwork.... More
