We are just back from a quick trip to Monaco, & a very pricey little tax haven it is too! If we saw one more private yacht or Maserati, I would be ill. The Columbus is located from the harbour in the Fontanville area of the city and is a 15 min walk from the Palace & the main square.... more

We had been looking forward to staying at the Columbus but found the whole experience rather disappointing. Check in was uneventful although we had a wait for our room. The room was attractive enough on first view but the search for the modem revealed lots of dust and tired finishes. The room was comfortable enough but the lighting was poor... more

Myself and my boyfriend visited the Columbus hotel for a long weekend in Feb 08 and we would highly recommend the hotel. On arrival the hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful. The rooms were very nicely decorated and a good size. You have movies and playstation in the room at an additional cost. The bar is... more

My husband and I have just returned from our 3rd stay at The Columbus, and have had another wonderfully relaxing break. The hotel is situated in Fontveille, the area where many of the locals live and where you'll land if you fly in by helicopter. The location is perfect for us. Fontveille has its own harbour with wonderful views up... more

My husband and I stayed at the Columbus for two nights, last September. We wanted to stay there partly as it was created by the Malmaison owner, partly because it was more contemporary than most of the other hotels in Monaco, and just a little bit in case we saw any F1 drivers! The location was good - not in... more

Because I had heard so much about this hotel, I was slightly disappointed when I got there. The rooms and bathrooms are a little small, but it was very comfy and cosy. They've got nice toiletries and the service was great. The concerige was really helpful in giving us directions to drive to Italy. Overall, a good experience though a... more

Stayed at this hotel for the Boat Show. It is a nice hotel but I wouldnt say it is brilliant for its rating. The helicopter terminal is right next to the hotel which on one hand is conveniant but on the other quite noisy. They are also starting new building works next door and I was woken early with the... more

Stayed at The Columbus for bank holiday weekend at the end of August. We took a helicopter from the airport and was well worth the 90 EUR per person cost, if only to see Monaco from the air! The hotel is a short walk away and as a result you do get the associated noise. The hotel is nice, I... more

The Columbus is a realtively cheap (for Monaco) boutique-style hotel. It's located a little way from the main tourist attractions of Casino Square, but is very convenient for the heliport. Although the rooms are modern, well equipped and a decent size, the decor is showing it's age - the bathroom in particular was a little shabby. The hotel has a... more

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights in July with Cresta including a one way helicopter transfers, which was fab. The hotel is very stylish inside, and the bedrooms were lovely - spacious with large balconys. The only aspect that let the hotel down was the staff. We found all the reception staff to be rude, unhelpful, and rather... more
