No previous booking, just came there by chance at night under rain. Lovely room at 3rd floor with a view to the garden, close to the blue baroque church's tower. Food far beyond expectation, fair wine list, great pastry. The owners and staf are so charming in their traditional attires! We'll be back. Brazilians in love with Austria. more

We came to Durnstein as a side trip from Vienna during our honeymoon. It really was the ideal break from the big cities. Completely romantic and beautiful. We took the train from Vienna and walked down to the hotel (directions from a friendly local) - maybe a 5 minute walk dragging our roller bags past the beautiful homes and wineries.... more

We stayed here in July, 2004 for a few nights during our honeymoon. It's a wonderful place and the best value we found on our two week Austria trip. Pretty rooms, a beautiful garden, and a great dinner. Wonderful staff. Excellent! more
