First impression was great when we first arrived, employees were nice, spoke english really well, very accomodating. Room was okay but not for the price. Bad view of apartments. Great breakfast, free internet. There was an issue with the billing and this is when an employee became extremely rude. They didn't apologize for their mistake and refused to fix it saying... more

We went for a 10day honeymoon trip to Salzburg and we stayed at this hotel. From all aspects we were very satisfied from our stay there. The rooms are modern and cosy, the service is very good, the breakfast is perfect. The hotel is situated to a very good city area, close to the old city centre and the every... more

This hotel was the second hotel we stayed in in Salzburg, considering the price it is quite far from the city centre (walkable) but quite close to the station. The room we had was at the front of the hotel & it is very noisy in the mornings with traffic on the main road. The rooms were fine, reasonable size,... more

This hotel is masked as a four star however i fail to understand how it made it to this level. It is outside the old city (15-20min on foot) and situated in a commercial area which offers little in the evening. It has no AC and the room on the top floor (level 3) are really unbearable with the heat... more

Dir Sirs, Thanks for choosing the Mercure Salzburg City and the publishing of your personal impression. The rating of a hotel is always considered independently from the location. The fact of having A/C is not yet included in the rating. We do apologize for the handling of our housekeeping department, which we immediately forward to the Housekeeping Manager. We hope...

If you find another hotel closer to the centre with airconditioned rooms, then do not choose this hotel. This is the advice I would give to my best friend. Rooms: The rooms were big, well-appointed, roomy and well-lit. The biggest snag in the room was that it was not airconditioned. Believe me, Salzburg can get very very hot and I... more

Dear Sirs, Thanks for choosing the Mercure Salzburg City and your fair comments on your stay with us. We are happy, that you rated a lot of services very positive. Of course the lack of A/C is on hot days like the late days of August a big point. We will keep trying to get this investment done as soon...

It's very easy to get to the hotel from the airport - using bus 2 (runs every ten minutes during the day) and getting off at the Bayerhamerstrasse stop (the buses show the names of the stops on a display); the hotel is a couple of minutes away on foot. The hotel staff were entirely friendly and pleasant, and we... more

Location is too far from city, not a four star hotel as claimed to basic. I was charged 15 euros for a child breakfast unaccompanied by an adult after being told it was free by a staff. stayed in this hotel for 7 nights, in room with a faulty window, no action was taken after reporting the fault. Seemed as... more

Dear Sirs, Again, we would like to apologise for the inconveniences discribed, especially for the misunderstanding concerning the breakfast. It's the first time that a child has been sent to breakfast alone. Thanks to this experience reception now informs correct about children beeing free of charge joining their parents for breakfast. We like to mention at that point, that we...

The Mercure Salzburg is located in Bayerhammerstrasse which by the standards of Salzburg is not that great a location to set up a hotel. The area is very much residential and away from the hustle bustle of the city centre. The check in was very smooth and we got the access cards for the room in no time. The rooms... more

Dear Sirs, Thanks for your comments! We really appreciate your point of View. The distance to the CityCenter of course is something we really can't change. The advantage of our location is the easy Access by Car, Train and public Transport. The walking distance to the main attraction is indeed 20 minutes - depending on the way you choose you...
