The hotel is in an excellent position, being quiet and close to the mountains, yet a short, easy bus ride to town. The welcome was friendly and information knowledgeable. The bar was a lovely spot for a drink in the evening.

We stayed here for 4 nights and weren't disappointed. As the hotel has been run for generations the room fit the period, was spacious and clean. The buffet breakfasts were excellent and food and drinks at dinner were delicious! This is a gem on the outskirts of the city of Salzburg, in the Austrian Alps. It is convenient by public transportation to the city of Salzburg. The Schnoll family is to be congratulated on their exceptional service, food and atmosphere. I would stay at this hotel anytime.

I regularly stay in hotels, all over the world. Many are cold empty places, hiding behind a vaneer of artificial bonhomie & expensive interior design. The Doktorwirt is the genuine article. a warm, friendly place. When in Salzburg, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
