The main HI youth hostel (close to downtown) was full when we were making arrangements, so we reserved here instead. Unfortunately, we were confused so arrived at the other youth hostel from where we were given (not terribly clear) directions to Eduard Heinrich Haus. Follow the signs carefully. EHH is buried in a cul-de-sac and we missed it the first couple times.
Quiet suburban neighborhood. The hostel seems to be mostly used by older students who are studying at a nearby academy or adult retreats so none of the craziness of small families or hordes of school classes. Has more of a vibe of a laid-back college dorm than a youth hostel. 5 minute walk to main street with a 10-15 minute bus ride to downtown Salzburg. Nice bar/cafe area right inside entrance. Everything else was pretty typical youth hostel (make your own beds, bring the sheets down, a little grotty but OK).
