This is the former Pension Christina, now re-opened after a one-year revamp and it is unrecognisable. Location is still excellent: just off Schwedenplatz, i.e. one min from the Underground (U1 & U4) and 5 mins walk to the Stefansdom and even less to the Bermudadreieck area with lots of bars. Rooms are a bit eclectic. Some nice design touches but,... more

We have visited this quiet hotel for 25 years. Tucked away but sufficiently central, the rooms are welcoming, the breakfasts enjoyable, and the staff efficient. Close by a Ubahn, just down from St.Stephensdom, and a few steps to Rotenturm Strasse. Old Vienna! more

This hotel was decent enough but I would not return. The location is great but there must be others in the same area that are nicer for the same price. The breakfast room is dingy and the service is not as friendly as other European places I stayed on the same trip. more

Pension Christina needs renovation. The carpeting and decor all show wear and tear. There was a dank smell in the air. Our room on the 2nd floor was small, with a teenie tiny shower, but it was clean and had both television and phone. The breakfast was really quite good - a very nice, tasty spread. I'm not familiar enough... more

Sure, Iwould like to stay at the Ritz as well, but for its position this Hotel is great. The staff were great AND the breakfast good. THAT IS WHAT THEY EAT HERE!! The breakfast was as specified by the other review. For the money great. Outside to the right, up stairs then hard left, a Viennesse restaurant. Excellent. Overall the... more

What a wonderful place for the money! The hospitality was superb. We were on the 6th floor in a non-smoking room with a quaint view. It was so close to downtown; lovely walk. I sure hope everyone disregards the review about Smoker's Alley--that is so off base. The breakfast was just what we needed to begin our day...no excuse to... more

Unless you love tobacco smoke, you should avoid this place. Sure, they may put you in a so-called nonsmoking room, and they may have masked the odor initially. But it will come back oozing into the room, especially because the staff smokes everywhere: in the hallways, in the elevator, at the reception desk, and in the breakfast room which is... more

I can't say enough good things about this place. Very conveniently located (less than a block from metro and main tram lines), pleasant and helpful staff. The reviewer who made the snide remarks about them not liking english speakers was out of his/her gourd. my guess is s/he showed up for breakfast at 7:01 am and when everything wasn't sitting... more

Rooms are rather small, and it seems they do not like english speakers there. The male night clerk pulled meats and cheese for breakfast only after german speakers showed up obviously hoping that people who communicate in english will be content to jams and buns only. He was kind a rude all along making sarcastic remarks. There are better places... more
