The hotel is centrally located, but definitely not a 5 star hotel. Based on our room size and amenities we would give it a 3 star to be more appropriate. What we did like is the excellent hotel service. The look of the hotel is kind of boring and that's our overall impression for Vienna. more

I stayed here with my family in November 2004. The Intercontinental Wien is conveniently located and the concierge is helpful. The rooms are very nice but this is new hotel, post-war, and it does not have the elegance of pre-war hotels. more

We received a complimentary stay at this hotel from my husband's work. We were told it was a 5 star hotel, which I guess it was. The lobby was very high scale, however, when we reached our room we found it was smoking room. It was AWFUL! It was like being punched in the face by stale smoke. We immediately... more

I would rather say it is 4+ hotel. They have no throwaway slippers:( Great location and breakfast!!! Rooms are clean and light. Good for business travellers. Lets your company pay for such an expensive stay:) more

We found the IC to be ideally located. It is near enough to tourist destinations in the city center and also right next to the U-Bahn, which will efficiently take you anywhere else in the city. Check-in was quick and painless - front desk staff seemed friendly even after our long flight. The rooms were smallish even by European standards... more

I was part of a group booked at the hotel and generally am not a fan of this kind of hotel. I prefer smaller places with a bit more local flavor and a more personal feel. This is a "big-time" hotel and is far from cozy but the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The location was excellent and most... more

We recently spent 2 nights/3 days at the Intercontinental Vienna. We arrived by train from Salzburg (a first class ticket for 2 cost 130.50 inc.) We then got a taxi from the station to the hotel which cost about €10.00. Although we arrived about 12.30 p.m we were allocated a room immediately by a very helpful receptionist. Our room was... more

I was really pleasantly surprised by the IC Vienna. I've stayed in several IC's and this is probably the best of very competent group. The building itself is a modern block tower, but also a protected building as it was one of the first modernist buildings in the city. Look closer and some quite fine architectural details such as the... more

I spent two nights in the Vienna InterCon in early January and have to say it was really pleasant stay. The Hotel is nicely located opposite of the U-Bahn Station (Underground station) Stadtpark on the U-4 line, just one stop away from the train-station where the CAT train brings you from the airport Vienna-Schwechat. Stadtpark is not the most central... more
