I had high hopes for our stay, but was more than a bit disappointed. Our room was a shoebox with too much furniture in it. Our bed was a double, not a queen and we had no where to put our luggage and literally had to step over it in order to walk around the bed. The bathroom is decorated... more

I’ve stayed on Grand Hotel for 3 days in April and the hotel was everything it announced. Good, although formal service. The location is the best possible, within 1 block to opera, and 2 blocks to Hofburg Complex and Stephanplatz, so you don’t need even to enter the subway. The room was exquisite and full of technology gizmos (we were... more

Booked the hotel online for a Saturday to Monday stay, as we were going to the opera on Sunday afternoon. A few weeks before the stay we asked the concierge to get tickets for the Viennese boys choir who sing in a chapel every Sunday, but tickets are hard to get. These were sorted for us (for a 30% commission)... more

We stayed at the Grand Hotel for four nights over Christmas. Our stay was "Grand" from the moment we checked in until when we checked out. Our room was lovely. It was large, had a great bed, and all the amenities we required. The hotel's first floor area makes a wicked hot chocolate and the cakes are to die for.... more

I booked this hotel for a weekend stay after reading the positive reviews here, and was not disappointed. I received a good advance rate through the hotel's own site. I requested a quiet room away from the elevators and was delighted with the results--we were placed as far as possible from the elevators, and there didn't seem to be anyone... more

When we booked, we accepted to pay a higher price for an upgraded room expecting something above average. Once we got to the hotel, we were surprised by the lack of personalised service, the repeated problems and the rather average level of amenities. Our room was not exceptional - we felt it was not worth the price we were paying.... more

We have just returned from 5 fabulous nights at the Grand Hotel. The service was impeccable, the room in pristine condition, the hotel beautifully decorated for Xmas, and ideally located. Yes, the bar area is smokey as are all the restaurants in Vienna. The hotel is a block from the streetcar and u-bahn, which connected with everything that we wanted... more

November in Vienna was bitterly windy with driving sleet and snow but the charming bellhops that greet you when you arrive, park your car, open the doors, offer you umbrellas and keep smiling whatever the weather, make you very optimistic about the Grand Hotel Wein as you head for check-in. There, however, charm and service seem to end. The chap... more

We're just back from a two night stay at the Grand Hotel in Vienna. We found it luxurious but not at all stuffy. We had a deluxe room which we got at a special internet rate of €319 per night including breakfast and it was absolutely worth the money. The room was spacious and immaculately presented. The goose down pillows... more

Very good and a perfect location from which to explore. Most of the sights are within walking distance. I wouldn't bother with their in house japanese restaurant just not worth it and a dull environment when there's so much else to see. Breakfast is ok but I suggest take your breakfast in a coffee house a much better experience. more
