Knowing that this hotel was essentially in a motorway service area we feared the worst but we were pleasantly surprised. We reached Vienna in the late evening, and central hotels were all fully booked. Were were directed to Novotel Wien West as they had still some empty rooms. We found a less than average Novotel. Yes, it is a bit far from downtown Vienna (Wien), but it fairly close to the Schoenbrunn Castle. There is a bus that stops in front of the hotel, runs about every hour and it takes you to the subway a few miles from the hotel. This place is best if you have a car. Parking is free and the... more
