We stayed at the Royal Hotel for 3 nights during Euro 2008. We made the reservation using a web-site in October 2007 and were a bit at unease considering the other reviews. To make sure our reservation was in order we made a call to the hotel a week in advance. We had made a reservation for 4 rooms and... more

As I've read carefully all the reviews posted before I traveled to Vienna, I was really worried thinking about the problems that I might experience taking into consideration what the others travelers shared: poor customer service, overbooking and so on. Arriving at the hotel I had one of the best surprises: not only that the location is absolutely great- few... more

I booked this hotel because its location is very good. The hotel belongs to a hotel-chain that also includes Graben and Regina. A friend of mine had told me that one week before she had booked at the same hotel and they told her there was a problem at their system and there was not availability at the hotel. Her... more

I had booked and prepaid a reservation in this hotel at the end of February 2008 at mid-December 2007. The day we arrived there we were told that they were over-booked and had to move us to a partner hotel. We had chosen Royal hotel for the location which is absolutely great, near Stephansdom, and we had to go to... more

We spent the winter holidays in Vienna and chose Royal Hotel based on the reviews praising its location (which is indeed great) and the fact that it has been recently refurbished. Bad idea. The room was recently refurbished indeed - floors have been changed, yet there was no carpeting, which tends to be quite cold and annoying during winter. The... more

We picked the Royal Hotel not only because of the good deal we got with Expedia but because of the location. It was so close to everything that we were able to keep popping back to the hotel to drop our bags off - we we're there to sample the Christmas markets after all! We stayed on the second floor... more

We chosed the hotel through Expedia and we were looking for a 4 stars hotel as we already used in Vienna (Le Meridien and others...). Royal showed really best prices (and our mistake was we had to be suspicious for that...) as a 4 stars. We booked for 2 plus 2 young childrens (1 year and 2 years). Position was... more

The location could not be better , around the corner from Stephens Square (cathedral). Staff very friendly, rooms are spacious and very good value, breakfast buffet good. Only problem was noise early morning from renovations that are taking place. Check this before you book but otherwise would recommend as a good value mid range hotel. more

If location and value is of any importance, this 3 star hotel is for you. Roll out the door and you're in St. Stephan's Platz. A 10 minute walk down Kartner Strasse and you're on the Ring next to the Opera. The hotel is clean. The room is adequate. The staff helpful and polite. Breakfast is more than enough and... more

The location of this hotel, right on St. Stephen's Square cant be bettered in Vienna. The room was large and bright, and the staff friendly. Good breakfast included. Lots of reasonably priced restaurants nearby and the Metro is right across the square. The location is one Metro stop or a 15 minute walk from the City Air Terminal. more
