Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is now called Hotel Deutschmeister and we stayed there three nights. This hotel is in a good location and in quiet neighborhood. Many good restaurants nearby as well as Uban station. However, when we checked in our first room had a refrigerator that did not work, and they moved us. The second room had issues like electrical sockets that didn’t work, lightbulbs, burnt out, the bathroom door lock was broken and the hotel room door as well was a key, and they only would give us one key to it. On top of that, the safe did not work. We checked in on a Saturday and they told us that no one was around until Monday to help with any of the issues. It could be a much nicer hotel, but no one is really taking care of it although I will have to say it is clean. But the amenities that they list are no longer there – they do not provide any laundry service at all, nor do they have any more than two pillows in a room ! We love the location in the area very much, but based on our experience, we will not return to this hotel. They have a breakfast buffet which was €12 when we stayed there which we thought was a good value. The front desk staff were very very nice. The elevator is very old and very slow. The reception area is nothing you want to sit in and they have a very small outdoor area that was dominated by staff smoking.

The rooms were dirty, they never changed the bed sheets. The worst part of all, we find bugs in the sheets and one night while i was sleeping, i've been bitten by a spider that made me an allergic reaction. We expected for a 4 star hotel that the staff could at least talk in english, but we were surprised that they don't. The only good things: breakfast and the subway was near.

The rooms were clean and warm, and this is the only good thing about this place… On the reception there was person only during day hours - we forgot our card in the room and there was nobody to open the room. There was a family waiting for someone to come and open their room from 7pm till 11 pm and as nobody came we were searching for spare cards on reception by ourselves. The breakfast is nice if you wake up early and have it otherwise there is nothing left.

Centrally located hotel with just a 2min walk from Roßauer Lände Line U4 metro station. Staff was helpful. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable, and equipped with an AC and a fridge. Breakfast was adequate.

The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance of the u-bahn, the walks along the Donaukanal, & the 1st District. The area around the hotel is a neighborhood, with cafes & supermarkets (it is near to a busy road but we didn't notice road noise). The room was comfortable although very hot at night during our stay & the A/C was unavailable. The staff were friendly & spoke English. Parking is €20 a day. There is a small bar & a small outside courtyard. Breakfast was the usual "continental" but didn't have a great selection on offer. We will stay there again.

We stayed in the apartment section of the hotel. Lovely, spacious living room/dining area, well equipped kitchen, including a dishwasher. oven but No microwave. Good storage space for clothes, luggage. Nice firm bed, but the best thing was the quiet and the location. Two minutes walk from a subway stop, and a 5 minute walk to a lovely couple of streets filled with boutiques and cafes. There’s no daily maid service at the apartment and it was a bit annoying to be charged 3 euros for every towel change. But overall great value for the money.

The hotel has a mediocre breakfast, no ironing possibilities (which is extra sad in Vienna), and no sale of toiletries. The rooms, and the interior in general, are in a O.K. condition, but the furnishment is old. The glory days of this hotel is over.

The bed very comfortable though the pillows were horrible. Searched for the minibar, it didn’t exist. Free toiletries were a hand soap dispenser. Count the coffees you have they charge £1 each and there’s no variety. The furniture was a mismatch not a single comfy chair. But a good base and ok. I struggle to find the 3rd and4th star.

I was very disappointed with our stay at this hotel. We booked a 4* place as a treat and it didn't meet any of the standards I was expecting. It was clean, but that really is the minimum expectation for a hotel. There should have at least been tea and coffee in the rooms - instead we were charged 6 euros for 2 cups of tea which is absurd. The breakfast was unpleasant. Cold scrambled eggs and warm yoghurt. I would not stay here ever again and will warn others not to stay at this hotel.
