My husband and I stayed in the Austria Classic Hotel for 4 nights, and we simply loved it! The price was excellent, the breakfast was fantastic, the room was very clean as was the entire hotel, and the staff were very friendly. We had booked and prepaid double room "classic". Upon arrival we were assigned a tiny room with very narrow bed, though we specifically didn't want a budget room and chose a bigger room. We returned to the lobby and the clerk immediately knew why we returned and gave us another key to a abit bigger room with proper double bed.... more

The Nordbaun Hotel, now operating under a new name, but with the same charming and hospitable management, has been my hotel of choice when traveling to Vienna for over 20 years. Placed central to Bahnhof Nord/Praterstern station(metro, tram, bus AND S-bahn) - just 3-5 min walk away. Perfect to use train from the airport. Nestroyplatz metro station also is 3-5 minutes walking distance from the hotel. Very easy to go around. Check in (and out) got fast. Cozy lobby with a bar. My experience of this charming hotel was outstanding. I was warmly greeted by understanding staff at reception who advised me on a location for dinner, which was superb and just around the corner from the hotel. The location is great, only about a 20-minute walk from the old town of Vienna. The room was small but adequate.
