We stayed in a 8-bedded mixed dorm. The room is clean, with separate toilet and bathroom. Lockers are available in the room, with locks obtainable from reception with a refundable $5. Rooms were clean and beautiful - we had a four-bed room with a private bath and it was very nice.The location was great - right next to the metro stop. The lounge and bar downstairs were very nice and there seemed to be all sorts of people staying there - families as well as young people and couples. more

This is definitely supposed to be an optimal choice! Where can l start from? The metro station is just one minute away and it takes you to the city centre in just 5-7 minutes! This is a great hostel to stay in while in Vienna. The hostel itself is quite swanky, with modern decor and spotlessly clean. The beds were probably the comfiest I have found in any hostel. The reservation system on the website doesn't work properly. When I made the reservation I didn't receive any confirmation email. When I used the cancellation form to cancel the reservation I received a sort of email but the people from Meininger claim it's not a confirmation of cancellation and the reservation was not canceled. I stayed in a female dorm for a one night when I was having just a quick stop on my way to Ljubljana, Slovenia. I really liked it since it had an ensuite bathroom and a toilet (separate ones!) even though it was a dorm for 8 people. Hostel was easy to reach and very close to the u-bahn station.... more
