Stayed here mid March for a weekend. It was closely located to the bus from the airport and close to Rica hotel where a lot of activity pick ups are. We arrived early but allowed us to keep our luggage in the luggage room which is appreciated. Rooms itself were clean and comfortable. Fridge and kettle (with sugar, tea, milk... More

Pricey as everything in Norway. Great location, nice view of the town from our room, clean, friendly staff, excellent breakfast. But the room was too small and decorations didn't help (three unecessary bulky chairs, lamps on the walls are too low - shoulder level - and stick out too much, leaving even less space to move around). There was not... More

What a great Hotel! Located near the centre and the Hurtigruten terminal, right by tourist office. Very comfortable room and smashing breakfast. Tea and coffee in the room and a fridge for milk. Lots of local information available in the Hotel, plus so many attractions and places to eat on your doorstep! They are open 24/7 so even coming in... More

The Amalie is well situated, close to the airport bus stop, shops and restaurants. There are also supermarkets nearby. The room was small but well appointed with fridge and kettle, warm and comfortable. The breakfast was good and tea and waffles were available in the afternoon. there is free wi-fi and a computer and printer available for guest use. It... More

The Amalie is a great little hotel, nothing fancy, just does the business. It is centrally located for shops, restaurants and the Hurtigruten terminal. Rooms are clean and comfortable, if perhaps a touch on the small side. We took care not to spread our things everywhere. There is a kettle with tea and coffee, a hair dryer, an iron and a... More

My husband and I stayed here for 4 night last week, visiting Tromso to chase the Northern Lights ( which we managed to see and capture great photos of!) We got room 503, which was a corner room and possibly one if the only few room with s nice view of the water n Arctic cathedral. The hotel is basic... More

Stayed here in March 2013. The hotel was perfectly situated in walking distance from restaurants, buses, museums and also the starting places of several tours. The staff here are very helpful. The buffet breakfast was very varied and very good. The facilities were very good. Our room was good and clean with comfy beds and a good bathroom. I would... More

This hotel is located very close to Tromsø visitor center where you can book tours and ask anything. I stayed in a small single room, nothing much to shout about. It's clean enough and the hot water works. There's a flat screen TV but I didn't watch anything. Internet is free but requires login and password that seems to be... More

We stayed at the Amalie in Feb 2013. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room was small but kept clean and tidy. Bathroom was too small for our taste and had some issues (silicone sealant could have been a bit cleaner, shower hose leaking), but nothing too serious. Breakfast was simple but fine and we liked the self-service waffle iron in... More

Stayed at the Amalie hotel for 4 nights to see the northern lights. The hotel is centrally located, has reasonably sized rooms, free wi-fi, free waffles in the afternoon, great service and the most comfortable hotel beds I have slept in! The breakfast buffet is standard fare. It was reasonable priced for Tromso / Norway which is incredibly expensive, particularly... More
