Norway is incredibly, incredibly expensive. Let's just get that out of the way right from the start. In a county where prices are enough to leave you speechless, this Hotel offers tremendous value. It's clean and in an excellent, quiet area. The best part is the breakfast on offer. A great selection and enough to feed yourself until night time.... more

Good value for Oslo. On a semi-residential street a few kms from centre of city, but walkable (just) and quite a few shops and restauarnts in the surrounding area. This is an old small hotel, with small corridors, lifts etc. Room a little cramped, but OK. No WiFi, but i discovered I had accidentally logged into a signal from an... more

i saw some of the negative reviews of this hotel and don't understand them. In a country where a McDonald's meal for 2 people costs US$40, you can't beat a hotel that's $140/night. The hotel is very well situated on a lovely street with supermarkets, etc., nearby, and it's very easy to find from the central station (albeit a bit... more

This is a tricky hotel to find so if you arriving by train from the airport get a taxi. The front desk people were very nice. The room was perfectly adequate with tea and coffee making facilities included. Breakfast was also included in the price and very good. This ranged from cereals to contintental and even some bacon and eggs.... more

Very disappointed We pulled into Oslo at about 11:00 in the Morning and were very disappointed in the rooms we had booked. turns out on a second complaint, i was put in the corner at the end of a hallway in a tiny cupboard - and the rooms smelled. Ours was a little better - but not much. The breakfast... more

HUGE problems with the frint desk people. Basically they wanted to charge us for having to sleep on the floor-a long story. Basically the treatment was unacceptable. One front desk woman was quite rude, but a couple others were really nice. The rooms were not as cleaned as I would have liked-it was mainly the carpet. The bathroom set-up is... more

Positive aspects Situated behind the royal palace in one of the most exclusive districts of Oslo. Good value given its expensive area. Staff were friendly, polite and efficent. Breakfast room has just been redecorated. Rooms were clean and tidy with double glazing. Negative aspects Central station (with its fast and efficent airport train service) is a good 30 minutes walk... more

Stayed at this hotel back in January 2005, the hotel is a distance from the Main Bus station however you could walk it as we did but I would advise getting a taxi. When we went the snow was so thick we got are flight with Ryan air for £10 each return we landed at Torp airport from Liverpool and... more

Stayed here for three nights. Had a nice large twin room on fourth floor. Room was well furnished although could do with refurbishment, carpet was a bit threadbare in places. Hotel is well located for access to public transport, buses (route 21 passes the door) and trams (route 12 & 19 very near by) and is only a ten minute... more

Stayed here for 5 nights/6 days at about £50 a night including breakfast. For Oslo this was a bargain as i've never been to such an expensive city! When the first bottled beer I bought cost £6.50 I realised the trip could prove to be a sobering experience, though there are places such as Den Glade Munk on Storgata which... more
