It is adjacent to Oslo Central Railway station and you do not even have to cross the road to get to the hotel from the railway station. Super location as most people has pointed out. Breakfast is good and included in the price., but u have to go outside the hotel to reach it, even though it's just 5 meters from the entrance door. Sadly there is a big crowd of drug addicts 50-100 meters from the hotel (outside train station) because the oslo police don't care... more

This hotel is right above the central railroad station and is connected by a covered hallway that is also a shopping mall. With a late arrival at Oslo airport, and a train to catch from Oslo Central Station, early the following morning, the Scandic Byporten was an ideal accommodation option. As others have commented, the Central Station is not the most appealing bit of Oslo, and for that reason I would not choose this hotel for more than a one night stay.... more

The only reason to stay in this hotel is for its convenient location for the central station. I stay in (generally much much nicer) hotels for business regularly and have NEVER experienced such rude, aggressive and unhelpful reception staff. The area is very rough, you will be approached by beggars, drug addicts and prostitutes within two minutes of stepping outside... more

The only reason why I occasionally stay at this hotel is the location by Centralstation so that it is extremely easy to come from the airport by train. Otherwise I do not really like the hotel.
