My family and I have stayed at Arendal Maritime twice and the experience was great both times. The staff is outstanding and make the stay very personable as compared to other hotels. The hotel is fairly small, but have quite the variation in room sizes. With a five person family we used a small single room for the teenager and a double room for the rest of the crew (mom,dad and two small girls). The rooms are very nautical in decoration and as for many Norwegian hotels the room size is smaller than for US hotels.

Breakfast is included (delicious) and from Monday through Thursday you will also get supper which is normally soup, one hot dish and cold cuts with the most delicious selections of breads. We loved the food and the staff who treated us as family.

If you are parking a car there is a garage next to the hotel (costly), but parking on the street is free after 5 pm. Just remember to move the car before 8 am or you will be slapped with a parking... more
