We were made to feel very welcome at Skansen Pensjonat. Family run and very homely with excellent views of Bergen. Considering how expensive Norway is we thought the guesthouse was excellent value and the included breakfast (prepared at our convenience) was an added bonus. More

This is a charming, unpretentious pension located on the side of a steep hill within easy walking distance of the main town centre. The Skansen aims to provide basic, clean accommodation and it does this well. Our twin room on the first floor was large with plenty of room to spread out our gear. We had a table and WiiFi... More

I visited Bergen with my best friend and her sister. My friend and I shared a twin (which was next to the "Balcony" room) and the sister opted for a single (which was on the other side of the hallway--the back side of the building). We represented three types of travelers. I usually stay in guesthouses. My friend does not... More

This is a very attractive guesthouse, run by very welcoming hosts. The location does involve a climb but it has lovely views and is only minutes away from the town centre. our only disappointment is that the shared ablutions were not well spread throughout the building. we were on the 2nd floor, the nearest toilet was one floor below and... This is a cozy B and B providing a lovely home environment with great service and an excellent breakfast. The operator is even willing to pack a take away breakfast if you must leave early. It is well situated to the center of the city and has lots of information on hand to help you plan your stay. We had... More

Lovely guesthouse in a central location just above the funicular. Excellent value for money. We stayed in the double room (room 6), it had lovely attic windows and a comfortable bed. Bathrooms are not ensuite but this did not matter to us. Lovely Norwegian breakfast was served in the morning. We stayed in another hotel Bergen on a different night... More

My husband and i stayed here for one night, The location is great since it is up on one of the highest points in the center of Bergen. The landlady prepared a lovely breakfast. The rooms, showers and bathrooms were clean. Will definitely go back again! More

My wife and I booked the balcony room after a couple of emails were exchanged with the owner Svein. This booking was confirmed in January for an August arrival. We arrived to be told we had no booking and the place was fully booked with a group of teachers on holidays. We even produced a hard copy of the emails... More

We stayed here for one night in July 2011. Good location and has character. Rooms comfortable with nice views. The hostess is very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Very good value for money in a very expensive country. Beautiful spot but it was wet as it appears to be most of the time. More

We totally loved this hotel!! Very cozy and nice and central in Bergen. Wonderful staff/owners. Great breakfast. We would choose this hotel again - it actually feels like a home away from home! Actually we might go to Bergen again just to stay at Skansen! :-) More
