Overall the hotel is good – that is if you can see past its location (part of the hospital complex) and the overall feel of the place, it pretty much feels like a cross between a sanatorium, a hotel and a Ronald Mc Donald house. This means that lots of the hotel guests have either been just released from treatment,... More

As all other reviews would have pointed out... this is not a true hostel/hotel. This is attached to a University Hospital campus and looks like the building hosts the Maternity ward. So I often saw new born babies and new parents. Obviously the rooms were very clean and neat (the price includes lines and towels as well which is quite... More

Maybe not standard paractice in England but found it very odd and basic. We werent sure the number to call down to reception when the lift didnt work so we had to take the stairs from the top floor. Very hospital clean.

Just came back from lovely Stavanger and stayed at this modern hotel, associated with the University hospital. The staff was very friendly and helpful and informed me that being part of the hospital, when the rooms are needed the patients and their relatives take priority..which is fair enough. Also, warned me that would not be odd to come across new... More

My partner and I stayed here during a trip to Stavanger and the surrounding region in June 2012. The hotel itself seemed very clean and tidy along with the rooms. The rooms themselves were of a good size with flat screen TV (10 or so channels, not all English), bed was comfortable, although in our room was two singles put... More

Stayed here for a few days on a budget trip to Stavanger(if there is such a thing). The rooms are spacious and very clean, with a television, desk, and fridge. Since the hotel is located next door to the hospital, the ambulance heliport can be quite noisy. The breakfast is of the "healthy" kind, with not too much to choose... More

Key cards for the room and lift; but next to the lift is the stairs so key card for using the lift is an extra inconvenience; breakfast room is the other end of reception with the lobby shops in between so there's no check on residency when you go down to breakfast - nobody comes around asking your room number... I have stayed in this hotel on two occasions and it is a hospital-hotel directly attached to the university hospital. The rooms are decent and clean with no frills, acceptable TV and very good internet. The breakfast area is quite acceptable although the choice of foods is limited compared to what you would expect for the price. The big minus... More

While traveling in Norway,we (me and my husband)arrived to Stavanger and were looking for a cheap place to stay. We consulted with the information point and we were sent to this hotel, but no one told us its inside the hospital. After we found out that the hotel inside the hospital we were a little bit shocked but the girl on... More

St. Svithun turned out to be a relatively moderate accommodation option compared to central Stavangar hotels when we were looking for a place to stay over the 1st May Bank Holiday. However, it turned out to be a very pleasant stay with clean, comfortable rooms (towels changed everyday). Highlight of the stay was in the morning when we would go... More
