The service at this hotel was excellent and the food was very good in the restaurant. However first impression was so bad I would probably not have stayed there if I had not paid a £60.00 deposit. If guests can’t find parking spaces immediately outside the hotel, there are other on-street parking spaces nearby that cost £1 per day which is cheaper than our £6 per day garage charge. First visit to Eastbourne and to this hotel. Offered a very good deal including DBB but may have thought it rather overpriced otherwise. Booked for one night in single room largely on the basis of reviews on here. Other hotels available at cheaper rates but prefer not to take chances so opted for here. Just returned from a short break at this hotel. Staff very friendly and efficient. Room was exactly as stated in the brochure spotlessly clean and welcoming. Food excellent and well presented in a nice environment by very attentive staff, in all a lovely relaxing break and we will certainly be returning and will be recommending it to our friends. more

Having just returned from our second stay at this hotel, where we enjoyed a short break holiday. Our stay once again was excellent and the staff were very welcoming and made us feel very much at home. The food again was first class. Our room was well laid out was very comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. more

Our first stay in Eastbourne although not the first for our 91yr old mum. The chefs and waiters were great in their dealings with her eating fads. The rooms were clean and well serviced (The cleaner noticed we had a pack of long life milk in the room and thereafter left more of those little milks..without being asked) The staff... more

not on the sea-front (short block away) but staff from front desk to kitchen and all functions in between rallied round to support my wife during minor illness.The result was ;a very happy vacation.TIP if arriving at Gatwick ,try a pleasant change of pace.Avoid Londons expensive hotels and meals.Head south 1 hour to Eastbournes New Wilmington Hotel.You wont regret it. more

Just returned from an excellent stay at the New Wilmington. Food delicious, with varied menus, and very attractively served in the gracious dining room.. If you wish to talk to your waiters and waitresses about what you’ve done today, they are so pleasant and friendly. Although never intrusive, of course. All the staff are wonderful. My husband and I stayed at the New Wilmington hotel for 3 night in June 2009. The hotel is absolutely spotlessly clean, the rooms are airy, quiet, and comfortable. The staff in the dining room go out of their way to ensure all your needs are met. The hotel is located one block from the sea and close to shopping... more
