Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We arrived early and could Check in straight away nice clean guesthouse rooms clean tidy and stylish beautiful view of the sea and beach. Only criticism we stayed for 2 nights and was under the impression that the room would be cleaned beds changed and toilet roll towels and milk tea and coffee replenished but wasn't we had to buy toilet roll and milk ourselves and we found ourselves sleeping in the same sheets as the night before and had to use hand towels to dry ourselves after our shower. The price was quite expensive and with these things missed out on we find the price did not reflect the services we got provided for us

Fairly good experience. Room very dusty in the kitchen..The couple who run it nice enough people although as they say never trust a man who's eyes are too close together, but that apart as the title suggests not bad.

Really pleased we found this guesthouse. Great location: close to town, pier and the seafront. The room was lovely and the kitchen an added bonus. Owners were very friendly and approachable. We only stayed for one night, but this would be a brilliant base for longer stays.

Lovely hosts, room nice and spacious and modern. Really great to have your own kitchen which was stocked with basics. Location was perfect for all places to visit in Eastbourne. Highly recommend this B&B.

Stayed at guesthouse east for the weekend, what a great place. Beautiful rooms, even get your own kitchen! Tony who runs it is lovely, can't do enough for his guests really goes out his way to help. I can be quite demanding and he met every request! Come out the property and turn right, 30 seconds your on the beach and 5 mins from the pier. Come out and turn left you five mins from the shops restaurants and theatres. This really is eastbourne best kept secret. Some hotels I go back to coz I have to, some I go back to coz need to, but guesthouse east I would go back to coz I want to. Absolutely awesome. Just a little tip...you can book direct! Just give tony a ring

My mum and I went to Eastbourne for tennis holiday and stayed here due to its location. We were delighted as how close we were to amenities, tennis and seafront as we had no transport. Owners could not have been more friendly or helpful. Rooms very clean with kitchen, and bathroom very spacious. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have booked again for next year. :)

Very friendly owners who greeted us on arrival and showed the place around. We booked family room which was great ! own kitchen is a massive bonus when travelling with kids. Excellent location, short walk to the beach. This place has it all. You can order breakfast on site, owners need to know the night before but it worked for us perfectly. Nice food and great atmosphere. I cannot recommend it more.

I visited in the February half term with my husband and 8 month old son. After hunting for a hotel that was baby friendly I was so pleased to find this little gem. There is so much stuff to take away with a baby that it often puts me off going away. But here, we were supplied with a cot (and bedding), steriliser, high chair and a small galley kitchen. It was just what we needed! We ate breakfast in our room and I was able to prepare food and bottles for my son. The room itself was lovely and had a huge bathroom which meant my son could still have his normal bath time. Tony was very welcoming; he was always available if we needed him but never intrusive. We didn't see lisa until our last day as she was training for a marathon. The location is perfect, right by the sea front and equally close to the town. We parked our car on arrival and didn't use it until we left. We had such a fantastic break that we extended our stay for a 3rd night. We will definitely be returning!

The Guesthouse East was a delightful place to stay. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The bed was comfortable and the area is in a quiet area of Eastbourne. We stayed two nights in February, in order to attend my cousin's Diamond Wedding Party, and this was only a 10 minute walk away. All the shops, pier, beach etc are only steps away from the Guesthouse, and the kitchenette allowed us to make our own breakfast and get up in a leisurely fashion. Tony and Lisa were very welcoming, and we have no hesitation in recommending their Guesthouse to anyone.
