The station hotel is in a great location i.e. opposite the railway station. Other than that the area is a bit bland. To the front of the hotel is a busy road, to the side a busy road bridge and to the rear the river. The river frontage sounds wonderful but you overlook modern warehouses on the other bank. As regards town planning Ipswich missed a few pointers her. Generally 10 minutes walk into town past the football stadium.

The hotel is a pub downstairs with 14 rooms above. Half the pub is a Indian resturant. We had room 8 with an ensuite whcih was at the front of the hotel. The room was very large with hood size bathroom. Clean white duvets and four clean white towels. Neutral decor and new pine furniture. The rooms were probably decorated with the last 2 years so were still fresh. Carpet had a couplle stains near the kettle (tea/ coffee provided). No break fast provided but cafe in oppostite railways station . Small electric heater but did the job in the very cold... more
