Have stayed in most of the HDVs as they seem to have it just right, big comfortable beds, monsoon showers, fast filling baths, relaxed atmosphere, good food and amazing wine. Stayed for the first time in Poole with some friends on a Saturday night a few weeks ago. Pulled up outside, valet parking ready to go, quick check in and... more

My wife and I stayed two nights during a recent visit to Poole. First time in an HDV, and booked a studio suite. Pleasantly surprised to hear we had been upgraded to the executive suite for our second night when confirming booking on telephone. On arrival, car valet parked and into reception. Swift check in, and escorted to room. First... more

Wonderful hotel. Fantastic large rooms are individually decorated (I've seen 2 and loved them both), great amenities, good location, very tasty breakfast (good variety as well!), good service. There is nothing wrong with this hotel! Superb experience. Enjoyed the bar quite a lot as well ). Special thanks to Joakim! more

We’re a little delayed in writing this review – simply down to time, as it was a wonderful stay! We booked a Sunday night deal to stay at the HDV in Poole, at the end of a holiday in Spain. We arrived during the hot last weekend in September, to a bustling scene in Poole Harbour. We timed our arrival... more

One of th e worst things about the Pole HDV is its lack of parking for non residents eating in the restaurant. Old town Poole is a very busy area and in order to eat you have to park a long way off. This proved to be bad for us as not only was it wet and windy, but on... more

I stayed here with a large group of colleagues over a 5 week period in back in April, and can totally agree with the comments to choose your room wisely. As there was an average of 12 of us each week, we must have pretty much covered most of the rooms between us. We did lots of comparing, just so... more

Needed somewhere to stay in Poole after visiting family, and was so pleased that HdV had opened. Amazingly quiet location, very central and very lovely. We stayed in La Grand Dame which was a beautiful, warm, cosy and romantic room - we didn't want to leave it. Bed was so comfortable, great bath in the main room and a huge... more

My room was large with very nice furnishings and all the refinements you would expect from a good hotel room. The bathroom was more than adequate and everything was very clean. Breakfast is excellent with a good choice. All the staff were very efficient. £8 per night to park with no choice in the matter, a little pricey I thought... more

We stayed for a Saturday night in late August and having stayed at many Hotel du Vin's in the past this was the first time we were both very disappointed. The reception staff were delightful but we found the bar staff unprofessional and more interested in their own banter than the customers. We ordered two gin and tonics and before... more
