I visited for 2 nights with my husband and 2 sons (4 and 6) just to try out our new tent. It was very quiet and had one sunny day and one light rainy day- so no experience of flooding thank goodness. The place is ok and has some advantages but probably more disadvantages. On the plus side the setting... More

Stayed here over the May bank holiday and had a wonderful time with my family and friends. There's a lovely relaxed and friendly feel to the site with lots of nice walks and rides nearby to enjoy. The facilities we used were clean and well maintained with hot water always available when needed (I rise late!). Thoroughly recommend the site... More

a lovly park clean and tidy and excellent facilities. we stayed here as we could not get on the site for the steam fair, not to far and so glad we found this little gem. we were allowed to chose our own pitch and found a fairly private one. excellent grounds and dog friendly. staff were cheerful and polite and... We booked to stay here last summer and were a bit nervous after having read some of the other reviews. We were pleasantly surprised with what we found; a lovely natural setting with unique pitches set back in glades and cosy areas which was great for us as we visited as part of a group so we could pick an... Well my wife and I visited beacon hill in May earlier this year and enjoyed it so much we thought we'd recommend it to friends and joined them for a ten day stay at the end of August. True the site is not perfect but like a lot of people have mentioned it is still a campsite, not a hotel.... More

I'm an experienced camper and have stayed on many sites throughout the UK and western Europe over many years. I don't often go to the trouble of writing reviews, but you need to be warned. It is awful. The last time I was at a site quite this bad was 15 years ago in Wales. The ground is mostly waterlogged... More

If you are happy with going back to nature and keeping it pretty basic/simple, this is probably a good place to go. If you are not an experienced camper, dont go, you would be better off booking a b&b in Poole. For Peak season with children, it defiantly was not best!! On the website the games room is shown to... We camped with brothers and family's August bank holiday. Plenty of space to pitch, park great for smaller children, shop not that full bit expensive but ok in emergency. Could do with more lighting going to new field as my brother slipped on first night and broke his leg. But don't be put off great site, quiet enough and not... More

We have just returned from a weeks camping at this campsite and it definately does not warrant the bad reviews. You can pitch almost where you like, there is no regimental pitches, lots of space around the tent and lots of freedom. The wildlife really is plentiful and the lakes are beautiful and stocked with decent size fish. The shop... More

School holidays, no drunkreds coming back at 1am, no seagulls waking you up at 5am. Toilet and shower blocks clean, shop adequate for essentials, bar area basic but fine. Loads of open space for kids to play and decent location. Dont worry about negative reviews for a rustic well kept site in a decent location you can't go wrong!! We... More
