Yet another Travelodge (see my reviews) in another city. Very handy location. Minutes from the train station and the city centre. Wakefield is party central with dozens and dozens of bars and clubs so this hotel is very popular at weekends with the party people (I was told - and reminded by the receptionist who warned of the drunks banging... A decent location for a hotel stay in Wakefield. The hotel itself is quite clean and rooms are spacious. Wakefield is pretty much used for drinking stag and hen nights so its only really a bed your interested in anyway and at £30 a night between 3 people you cannot complain at all. Weatherspoons round the corner for breakfast as... More

The room we were put in first had a strong smell of urine near the bed! We complained to the receptionist who was very polite and moved us straight away to a better room. Room was basic but clean and very well priced. Not bad if you are used to urine and feces

Family Room 111 Thursday April 11th 2013 The last Travelodge we stayed in was pretty grim, and judging by the reviews I wasn't expecting much, BUT we were pleasantly surprised I have to say. During school holidays we normally take our young son out for the day, this time is was Tropical World in Leeds. He likes to have a... More

stayed here over night to save the hassle of driving to an early morning meeting. The room was notably clean and rather modern compared with some other travelodges. As always the flat pillows and external traffic noise hindered my sleep. For the price though (£24 with a discount code) i can't really complain. I'd be inclined tochose this one over... More

Very clean upon arrival despite the other reviews I've read. Basic rooms but Fab for the price. VERY noisy guests on weekends! Woke up at 4.30am by someone who pressed the fire alarm and we got evacuated!! Drunk people returning at early hours being loud which the hotel can't help. Had to contact reception as others music was too loud,... More

When we got back later... More

Parking very bad, room dirty with stains on walls and carpets, reception unhelpful,do your self a favour and book in somewhere else. The hotel has no good features at all ,you do get what you pay for but the only way you would get good value for money here is if they paid you to stay there.

Having now stayed here twice, I realise that for the best experience, you need to request a room facing towards the Town Centre and one which has been recently renovated. Almost always staying in a family room when visiting a Travelodge, it would be an added bonus if the children's beds could be made up on arrival!

My husband and I stayed in the Wakefield City Centre Travelodge last Saturday night as we were attending an engagement party and don't live near Wakefield. It is very conveniently situated for the shops, bars and restaurants. They have under cover for several cars which was very convenient as we left the car there the next day whilst we went... More
