We had a perfectly pleasant stay at the Campanille. The setting is certainly nothing to write home about (it's situated on an industrial estate) but the staff were friendly and the room was clean. The bed was huge and very comfortable, the shower was powerful and the bathroom was well presented with plenty of fresh towels. The exterior of the... more

You could be mistaken for thinking you were in France staying here. The accommodation was identical to those I've stayed in before in France. The room was comfortable, service was friendly and breakfast was good. I'd be happy to stay here again. more

I held a conference here in June, and stayed the night before. We chose the hotel due to it's competitive delegate rate. We have used many Campanile hotels in the past and found them of varying quality- this certainly wasn't one of the better ones! The accomodation was good for the price, with everything you require for a business trip.... more

The location of this Campanile is on an industrial site on the outskirts of Wakefield. But don't let that put you off; this is actually the nearest you'll get to the genuine French Campanile in the UK. And ignore the comments which are not recent - this is not Bates Motel or a threatening place or full of drunks. There's... more

I stayed in the hotel with my boyfriend after we had attended a wedding reception close by. The rooms were large and the beds were very comfy after a long day. The rooms had everything you could need in them for a one night stay and the check in staff were very friendly. I would definately stay in another Campanile... more

Alright before I start .. yes it is located in a sort of retail park area ... but I have no complaints whatsoever about the Campanile ... a taxi ride into town on average cost around £3.50 and for 4 people that works out as next to nothing! We stayed here for a lads weekend ... and for the price... more

I stayed at the Campanile for 3 weeks whilst working nearby. It was booked by my employer, and after reading some of the other reviews before i left, i was dreading my stay there. However, when i arrived, i was pleasantly surprised. The staff are french, but have excellent english. The layout is like that of a motel. The rooms... more

Heard a drunk the in the next room - rooms lobbies are open to the world and I felt scared, so checked out immediately. They were helpful and gave us no trouble when we did this more

I agree with the other reviewer - the hotel is at the far end of an industrial estate (tyre shops, fast food manufacturers), which is a bit weird. We stayed there for 2 nights about a year ago - it may be refurbed by now. The only place we've been to where my wife said she 'actually felt frightened'. Restaurant... more
