Saville guest house is very good value and I had a lovely stay.
It's situated in an unassuming house 5 mins' walk from the centre of Wakefield, just across the road from the bus station. The road seemed to have sheltered housing on it, and there were teenagers hanging around in the evening, but it felt safe. There is a leisure centre at the end of the road, which has a wave machine pool.
The house on the outside doesn't look like much, but inside it is really nice. I stayed in a single ensuite room. It was really tastefully decorated - no chinze, which is usual at this price - rather muted colours and antique-looking furniture. The bed was comfy, and the ensuite was huge. Everything was very clean. I was really impressed.
The lady who ran the place was very friendly and jolly.
