Wife and I stayed here for 2 nights and although the website looks very good there are a few things to be aware of. B'fast is 7 to 8.30am which I think is a bit tight for a lot of people if you are travelling around on holiday. If you have a room over the kitchen/dining area then from 6 am... More

We had booked into another hotel in town but it was absolutely filthy so we checked out and looked for somewhere else nearby. We found the Stanley View by chance and it was spotlessly clean and good value for money. It has clearly been decorated very recently with nice bathroom fittings and clean tidy breakfast room (plus very plush bathroom... More

I've given them 4 stars when for me it was really a 2 or 3 star experience, because they are what they are and they do that very well. Hard working staff cook full english breakfasts but you probably can't ask for yoghurt or muesli! There are at least 25 rooms, very thin curtains let the light in (streetlights and... More

This was our first stay in Stanley and what a wonderful discovery we’ve made. Gail couldn’t do enough to help us and make our brief stay a very pleasant experience. Great views from the room and every aspect of the house is done to a high standard. The breakfast was restaurant quality.

I stayed here for one night last Saturday on a visit to Wakefield to go to the rugby. Very comfortable, clean and a good breakfast. As stated in other reviews the staff were very pleasant. The only slight problem ,it was a bit further from the pub/club area than I thought but that's not their fault. I would stay here I again... From the outside this is a traditional Guesthouse with a large car park, which was floodlit at night.Inside was beautiful and modern.I loved the high celings and the alcoves. We received a warm welcome by the owner and shown to our spacious room. We requested a evening meal and it was homemade, fresh and the portion size was huge! I would recommend... More

I stayed in a single room for 3 nights at stanley and have to say it was of a high standard and offers reasonable value for money. The decor was tasteful and the room had everything you would require for short stays. The staf f were pleasant and obliging and I would have no hesitation in recommending the guest house... More
