What a shame! We used to live in Stamford in the 1980's and Lady Annes then was a superior, genteel place to stay. When we returned for a reunion it was the obvious choice. What a mistake. It had hardly changed, which when you are running a hotel with the original 1980's decor is a pretty damning state of affairs.... more

We had our wedding reception at Lady Annes Hotel in August, and I wanted to say what a fantastic job they did of hosting the event for us. I did have my concerns, as email communication is not a strong point for the hotel, but on the day I really did have nothing to worry about as Geoff Hastings had... more

I felt I must write to you to say a huge thank you for the way the wedding of my grandaughter Amy and Darren was arranged by yourselves, it was really magnificent! Also we were delighted to be staying at you lovely hotel, where every attention was given to us, by your staff, and reception. Our room was delightful, so... more

Lady Anne could be a shabby chic, chinzy lass of dignified faded glory refusing to be modernised because of pride. I would respect her for that! By reading the reviews you could be forgiven for thinking that it has this charm. Whatever charm it had is fading fast and Lady Anne is now a clapped out bedraggled and confused "has... more

I stopped off at this hotel to break up a long drive south. Whilst the hotel is well situated in a nice market town and with easy access to the A1; it is in desperate need of updating. The decor is very old and tired and of the chintzy variety; and for the price I would've expected something more modern.... more

We decided to have a night in Stamford so we could visit Burghley House (very beautiful). I called one of the larger hotels and was told they only had a "superior" room for £225 a night. This hotel was £90 for the night, including a superb cooked breakfast in the morning. It had very nice 18th century style decor. They... more

I tried to book (directly) with this hotel for my partners birthday. One day before I was due to stay I phoned them to check something with my booking - they had no record of my reservation. After spending a few hours trying to resolve the issue (I had to fax them my e-mail corrospondance as the one person that... more

My partner and I have stayed at this lovely hotel many times over the years. Always friendly staff and good food. And ideal base to wander into Stamford. My sister is currently orgainising her wedding to be held at the hotel as we were visiting once while a wedding was taking place and it looked perfect. Brilliant cricket themed bar... more

We held our wedding here in July this year, Like the lady in the first review, May 2003, we stayed in the room with the large 4 poster and private garden. I think it is room 12 and well worth asking for specifically. Comments in the other reviews about the internal decor have some truth in them but this is... more

I have just stayed at this hotel for a week attending a conference. Set in beautiful surroundings and a real home from home experience. It is a family run hotel with attention to detail not your large coporate impersonal hotel that I normally have to stay in.The staff and hotel manager could not do enough to cater for any requirements.... more
