I've got to be careful just to review the hotel on it's own merits and not let the fact that I didn't like Skegness get in the way. Having said that, if this hotel was as it is but located somewhere more upmarket it probably wouldn't be as popular as it is!
The location is perfect for the fun fair, amusement arcades, gardens, beach and town. The outside is overwhelmingly yellow but to be fair it doesn't look out of place and they have nice steps with modern lighting and great hanging baskets that are well cared for. Disabled access is good.Reception is welcoming and mostly friendly. a large number of electric buggies for less mobile guests seem to be plugged in near reception overnight but that shouldn't be a problem for other guests.
There is lift access to the 1st and 2nd floors only so if you struggle with stairs make sure you don't get a room on the 3rd floor! One of the lifts is very antiquated and you have to be careful not to break the electronic beam otherwise you get...
