We stayed here over bank hol weekend , rooms were smelly and dirty then we had an evening meal wich was the biggest mistake we made. We both ordered steak which was suppose to be 10 oz but was more like 5, it was tough chewy and dry. all in all it cost over £30 and wasnt worth a penny... more

This Hotel is odd..very old and dated..clean sheets...but oldish blankets on the beds...bright orange walls and bedspreads. My main complaint would be how noisy it is in the rooms...we were in room 103...I don't know if the others are any quieter...but it sounded like a herd of elephants were partying upstairs....we could hear about 5 different showers and toilets flushing..and... more

We stayed here for two nights, but our stay got off to a bad start . When we checked in at 2.30pm and were told that the travel cot we requested had not yet been set up in our room, due to them being 'rushed off their feet'. We went on to remind the manager (?)Neil, at least half a... more

Overall, the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, food was good particularly in the bar in an evening. There is a swimming pool - the changing facilities here were a bit limited and the shower to use before entering the pool didn't exist. There was carpet all around the pool which was soaking wet but i guess... more

Owners and staff VERY rude and obnoxious. Felt like I was being watched and spied upon. Locked door at night and would only provide one key although two of us in the room. Didn't feel safe with staff having master key to room. Told when to go to bed and which seat to sit on when at dining table, I... more

Welcomed with a smile from hotel staff, who were expecting us. Local amenities, etc, described. Room clean, tidy, spacious. Beds comfortable. Quiet location, which we were expecting, but within short walking distance (25 mins) of town centre. All meals (breakfast and evening) properly prepared and well-presented. Staff friendly and courteous. more

The room was OK - clean and a good size but the television was an antiquated portable with a dodgy aerial - not even any freeview channels and the toilet took ages to fill after being flushed!! We came back to the hotel around 11.15pm after a show at the Embassy Theatre to find the front door locked and the... more

Reception desk to check-in is like a nightclub cloakroom, very unwelcoming. Couldn't hook my portable DVD to the TV, as it was so old, it only had the aerial socket. Stayed for two nights with my 16 year old son. Couldn't sleep the first night, as the bed was so hard, frequent turning woke me up, as the bed groaned.... more
